oh... the rain is back! That sunshine didn't last long but it was a nice break.
Today: very simple basics, dressed up with a super fabulous scarf. The black and white Key Scarf is the very first Hermes scarf I purchased for myself. I absolutely adore it and my heart still skips a beat when I look at the amazing detail! I need to pull these scarves out more often... I actually used to wear them quite a bit. I have worn this one around my neck, as a belt through jeans, tied onto a purse, and once - to a grad school formal - as a top. You just knot in the middle on the reverse side, then tie around your waist and neck!
Hermes scarves are pricey but I like to look at things by "cost per wear"! That $60 sweater you bought on sale and wore once = not a good deal. The $200 shoes you wear 50+ times = good deal!
The rest of my outfit is: Banana Republic black capris, white ON tank, white AT Loft buttoned shirt, gold Stuart Weitzman thong sandals (it's a little wet out there but not pouring, so I'm still going to wear them!), and simple gold earrings.
tied very simply today!
Stuart Weitzman thong sandals - VERY shiny! - and OPI "Dress to Empress" on the toes
Absolutely stunning scarf:) I am always looking at scarves. I think they add such a touch to a simple outfit, just as you have done here! I would love to see how you tied the scarf around your neck, in this outfit......Happy Wednesday!! Off to run errands with my little boy (who will be TWO this weekend......sniff, sniff)
ReplyDeleteBTW----my first name is Lori----i feel like we can go by first name basis! (besides, my blogger name, "mrs.anketell" makes me feel kinda.....you know.....I used that name for my student blogs that i keep in one of my classes I teach)
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit and love love love the scarf. Like Mrs.A, would love to know exactly how you tied the scarf. I do better with oblong shapes, but have a few squares that I would like to wear more often.
ReplyDeleteAdorable outfit!
ReplyDeleteI have a scarf similar to this one my aunt brought back from Italy. I had no idea how to wear it, so I can't wait to try out some of yours ways!
Love it! Classy casual! I too would like to have a lesson on scarf knots.
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone! I am enjoying my scarf but this weather... maybe these sandals were not the appropriate choice... Anyway, I think I will do a post or two on ways I like to wear scarves - thank you for the idea. I don't know that much about it but I've tried some different things I can share :)
ReplyDeleteLove your pedicure! :)
ReplyDeleteoh and MrsA (Lori!) I know how you feel about that big 2nd birthday! They grow soooo fast. I can't believe my oldest will be 8 this Fall. I feel funny about the names too... it's difficult to decide how much anonymity you want to maintain when you publish a blog. There are many of you that I feel like I know and enjoy chatting with... I could totally shop with you guys and share kid pics, etc. But then I see hundreds and hundreds of hits or see crazy comments and realize that anyone and everyone can see a public blog! Of course that makes sense! Maybe I should get my private one going again in addition!
ReplyDeleteoh and thank you Petunia!!
ReplyDeleteThat scarf is CHA CHA!!! Cute sandals too - I love Stuart Weitzman!!! I have pink ones for my wedding with a big fat bow on them!!!
ReplyDeletePink Julep - thank you! And pink SW's with big fat bows sound FAB! :)
