OOTD 1.16.10: Blooming Phlox in Yellow

On Saturday we drove up to Vancouver, BC for a little weekend getaway so I went super comfy (ok, actually I go super comfy most everyday) with my new happy yellow Blooming Phlox tank from Anthropologie, jeans, cardi and ballet flats. I really reeeaaallly wanted to put a charcoal gray cardi with this but I don't have one. I have medium gray, lt. gray, pewter... but not charcoal. I put this yellow next to a pullover cowlneck in charcoal and it looked so great but a pullover cowlneck just wouldn't work. So I went with this brown which I do also like (still - am currently on the hunt for a charcoal cardigan):

Anthropologie Blooming Phlox Tank in yellow, Target pointelle wrap cardi in Brown, Paige Premium Denim, Anthropologie Bauble Bath bracelet, Anthropologie Sweetest Hive earrings, La Scarpa suede ballerina flats in brown (bought this past summer in Paris)

I have a couple more vacation outfits and a few Vancouver pics to post too -- coming up!

  3. Have you seen the Tory Burch Simone cardi in Charcoal...hmm, I think it's called charcoal...anyway, it's Very charcoal! Spendy, yes, but a very nice shade of grey & how can you resist Tory?

You look great, even if not charcoal!

  4. Love your ballerina flats! The color of your flats is just so pretty!

There is this British brand called French Sole. They have the most amazing variety of flats, the colors are just impossible to resist!

The last pair I got from them was the Henrietta in crocodile purple color.

lottie ::sigh:: a TB cardi would be perfect - and I don't have a Simone yet!
Mona P - thanks and thank you for the recommendation. I'll check them out. I just love simple ballet flats and could use a couple other colors for Spring. :) crocodile purple sounds amazing.

  6. Love the phlox tank - so pretty!! Great color and fab detailing!

Funny that you kept mentioning a charcoal cardi - on my monitor, the cardi really does look kinda gray! My charcoal cardi got a rip in the neckline so I whisked it off to the cleaners to get repaired - such a basic piece, didn't want to have to replace it!

  8. Hope that you enjoyed Vancouver...I love your top, I love visiting Seattle too...we stay at the Mayflower Park. Shopping is so great there, the Rack, Nordstroms, Barneys, Eileen Fisher....and that is only downtown, there is so much to explore...do you have any favorites?

  10. thanks Beth and Sarah Mina! Posting some pics tomorrow :)
hostess - thank you. We had a great time in Vancouver! Locally... I like Anthropologie, J Crew, Nordstrom, that sort of thing. Pacific Place is great and the new Bravern in Bellevue is fun - beautifully done and they have some wonderful stores like Tory Burch and Neimans and also a Trophy Cupcakes upstairs. If you like antique-y boutique-y shopping Snohomish is a fun trip if you haven't been. It's about an hour north I'd say and has a cute main street with lots of unique shops.
