Aloha!

We're here and the fun has begun! This is my second time to Oahu - last time was our honeymoon, many years and three kids ago. We've brought the girls along to Kauai and then all three to Maui after our little guy was born, but this is their first trip here - and I must say this is where I would bring them next time.

We have a beautiful two bedroom suite at the Grand Waikikian by Hilton (at the Hawaiian Village) and it is absolutely wonderful... the accomodations, the pool, the location. Everything. The little ones are having a blast.

Reviews and pics to come, and hopefully some OOTDs and shopping squeezed in too.

Happy Friday!

xoxo

  1. Aloha mama! Hope you're enjoying Hawaii!

Hey - if you end up shopping at an LV boutique - is there any way you could check on the price for a Speedy 30 in damier ebene? Tee hee. I know that the prices in HI are *slightly* cheaper than here on the mainland and since we're heading out there in March (we're staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village as well!) I'm debating whether to buy one when we're there or just buy it here.

    Thanks!

  2. Hi! I've heard they are about 5% less here and tax is pretty low - 4-something percent?? I am pretty sure I'll make it to an LV and can check on the Damier Speedy 30 for you. That was my first LV - you'll love it!

  3. mmmmm . . . envious, as it doesn't look like the old Puget sound will dig out of the rain and cold for quite a while! Do go up to the crater with all the shallow snorkeling, and be sure to check out the north side Obama neighborhood for future trips!!

  5. Michelle- Speedy30 Damiers are $675 here plus 4.7% tax. (yes I just went to LV they are open late! I believe they are $700 on the mainland before tax. so a bit of a savings. She said usually about 3%.

  8. Hey THANKS! Im so happy to know that an LV is so close to the HHV - will be dangerous come March. Hmm, that's about $15 cheaper than here in California, plus we have ridiculously high 9% tax. Sounds like a "deal" as far as LV goes. I use my Mono Batignolles Vertical all the time, but I'm digging on handheld bags right now, so the speedy is at the top of my list. Although, that Neverfull Azur is calling me too! You should get one of those while you're out there - it will be perfect for the beach! LOL!

  9. Oh - forgot to add - if you end up at LV again - can you check the price of the Neverfull Azur? (insert sheepish grin here.) BTW, I'm "Michelle" from the above comments, I just figured I should update my blogger profile. :P

  10. Hi again Michelle - funny you should ask. I was carrying my Neverfull MM in monogram and she said they were also $675 here - same as Speedy 30. I think they are also $700 on the mainland in MM. I think the Azur is priced the same as the Ebene and Monogram but I'll check. I am looking at an Azur bag myself - I'm thinking the Totally MM - unfortunately just a $20 savings though. France is definitely THE place to buy LV though - the pricing there is great - maybe 20-25% less! I should have bought more last summer!
