The MBMJ Mouse {opinions, please}

So for quite awhile I have been intrigued by the Marc Jacobs mouse flats from afar but hesitant to try them for myself... now this variation has popped up on my shopittome radar on sale at piperlime with free shipping...

So I wanted to get some opinions...

Would you say:

1) Yes! Go for them! They are super cute and will one day be a classic, if not a conversation piece.

2) If you got them, you could only wear them to Disneyland/Disneyworld.

3) They're fine if you are under 8 years old, or over 80 and quite eccentric.

Thanks!

  2. Interestingly I don't see a 'no' option. You must want them. At least Piper Lime has free returns. ;-)

  4. I think I have to go with option 3. They are very cute, but I think you might end up regretting the purchase. If you're in the mood for buying something fun and frivolous, Piper Lime has tons of great, unique styles that can help you bring out your inner child. With that said, to each her own, if you love the shoes, and you know that they'll make you happy, then don't listen to what anybody else has to say about them :)

  5. These are adorable. BUT very hard to pull off without looking like a child. I'd go skinny jeans and a white tee with these. Think MOD (model off duty). Go for it!

  6. thank you so much... I really really appreciate everyone's input and points of view! I think part of my interest in these is that I have small children and spend a lot of time volunteering with kids... and I think my little girls would think these were fun on Mom! Also just really like Marc Jacobs... still thinking... :)

  7. For me, I would buy them at Target prices. But they are very distintive. Ditto everything Talk Pretty To Me's said. (MOD - I'll have to remember that). If it's your aesthetic, go for it.

and by the way - when I just commented on Cari's blog, my word verification was "fabby". -y, not -ie, but close enough - thought you would appreciate!!

  8. They are very whimsical. I usually base those purchases on how long I've been thinking about an item and wanting it. It doesn't sound like it would be an impulse buy. You are so right-- the kids would love these!

There is always free return shipping! ;)

  9. I know that I'm going to disappoint you but I would never buy these, even at Target prices. The "original" Marc Jabobs mouse flats are fun enough and already a classic, go with those instead. These ones will never be a classic IMO and you will get tired of them soon. Sorry to speak the truth, I wouldn't have commented but you asked for an opinion!

  10. They ARE cute----your kids, girls, will adore them. But, they are not me. And I wouldn't get them, unless they were Target priced. Then again, if you LOVE them, go for it!! (sorry, that doesn't really help.....)

  11. so... I am leaning toward "no" at the price... they are cute but if something else grabs my fancy in the next week or two, I should probably move on and spend my $ on the classics and save the whimsy for some cheapy F21! Ema - I totally value your opinion & honesty - no disappointment! thank you ALL for the input... I still think they're adorable... but still too pricey... I like the MOD comment - I will keep that look in mind! :)

  12. I'm going with C - unless you're wearing fuzzy bunny slippers in the winter time or it's halloween, I'm usually not a fan of animals on people's feet - unless of course it's the little gator on your lacoste shoes, then that's okay...

By the same token, I am a total fan of being one's self and say To Hell With What Pink Julep or anyone else says - if they speak to you, then buy them. Your confidence is what will help you pull them off with style and grace!!! :-)

  13. I agree with you. They are adorbs but the price is steep.

  14. I say yes they're cute, my girls say no they're not. lol. I think the price is steep and unless you're going to wear them all the time... maybe the price will drop some more. :)

  15. I think they are ridiculous, but I can see why you would want them and I would probably get them. You only live once.

  16. Hi! I like things that are different but I think this one is one of the "DONTs" I think its wrong to pay a MARC JACOBS price tag for a cute pair of shoes. I think its nice for a little girl. Would you look at this pair twice if this was at Macy's or Walmart? I hope that doesnt sound rude, its just a sincere question. I usually ask myself that when I see something thats doubtful to purchase =) Hope that will help you too =)

  17. Thank you all for the input! I truly appreciate hearing different opinions and the different ways that people decide on purchases! I have decided to pass... for not much more, I can get a lovely pair of Tory Burch for summer that I would wear tons... smarter purchase for me :)
