Le Cinq is Confirmed!

My Hubby just forwarded our email confirmation for dinner at Le Cinq at George V in July!!! So excited! Time to start planning an outfit... only two months away afterall...

They also mentioned at the bottom of the email to "ask about their Rolls Royce Phantom", the only one in the world with "an interior exclusively personalized for us by Hermes"... but I'm guessing we'll be walking! :)

  1. Wow!! What a beautiful room! Are you taking your kids, and if so may I come and be your nanny? Please??
It is so rare to have to get "dressed" for dinner that I think you should really have fun with it!!

  3. Stephanie - I agree! Yes we are taking the kids AND a nanny! Yippee! It is mostly going to be a trip to Denmark (Hubs is Danish) but he's also arranged 4 nights in Paris and we are taking along one of the kids' sweet Danish 2nd cousins who they have met before (over here). They adore her - she is in her early 20s, fabulous with them, speaks French, and nannied over there too!
Heidi - I picked that up from Jillle! I love all the creative slang I am picking up in blogland! I'm learning so much! :)

  4. Oh la! la! We're going to France in July, too. I'm so excited. . . planned for years. I read on another blog that European women do NOT wear flip flops anywhere. Post your dinner outfit when you figure it out, please!

  5. fidele - Wonderful! I am so excited for the trip. I know that I will be bringing cafe capris and Tory Burch ballet flats... but for fancy dinners I don't know yet! I am starting on a Polyvore... two months goes by fast and July will be here soon :)

  8. Thanks! I am already wondering how to discreetly and nonchalantly take pictures of my plates of food LOL. Last time we went to Paris we ate at Guy Savoy which is another super fancy place and those waiters watch you like hawks! The split second you look like you need something they are all over you! :)

  9. Wow, that IS fabbie!! (I picked that up from my English girlfriend.) :)
We were planning on going to Paris for the French Open this year, but due to some health problems, my hubs cannot travel right now. Hopefully, next year!
Oh, please take pics of your food. The waiters will be thinking "zee crazeee americanzzz"! LOL

  10. Oh I hope it works out for you to go next year! I know, I must sneak some food pics. The cousin that is going to help watch the kids over there was visiting the US last year and she took pictures of her food at restaurants. I think it's a great idea! I started doing it on our last trip to Vancouver. :)

  11. Wow, I've never been there and I lived in Paris for 8 years! You can definitively dress up for this occasion! Still, there is a risk the ladies won't be in their evening gowns lol. I think that the best would be an evening skirt suit and heels (like Manolo's) if you have one

  12. Ema, I was thinking maybe even just black capris with dressy black heels and a great jacket or top... ??
we also have reservations for Jules Verne... my husband went there once years ago when he met up with his brother on business... do you think it is worth it or is it touristy and we should we try some place else?? I love any recommendations you have.

  13. Hi, sorry if I'm late in my reply. Black capris, heels and jacket will be perfect ..

The Jules Verne is absolutely one of the most stunning places in Paris, and the food under Ducasse was spectacular, I went there a couple of times over the years and I had a fantastic experience each time (not touristy but a lot of business dinners). However, I've heard that Alain Ducasse is gone and the space went through a lifting (if I'm not wrong the black and white art deco furnishing has been replaced by something more modern), so I can't comment on the current setting and food. But it should still be worth it, at least for the view (the best view of Paris).
