J Crew Delivery Day!

My last two Red Phone orders from the Wild Days of the Mickey Card arrived today!

I will start with the Linen Getaway Skirt, Item 15615.  Love the color (Fresh Melon), love the linen, love the casual styling... so in theory... I should love it.  In reality... um no, this one's not for me.  It is very short and when I tried it on in the mirror it just looked wide and short.  It's also rather sheer.  Tres uncomfortable for this mom!  I absolutely could not picture myself walking across the school campus to pick up my Kindergartener and First Grader in it.  It would definitely be suitable over a swimsuit but I do not lounge by a pool enough to even justify the RCP (red card price) of $33.00 (now $44.00).  I can't keep it.  If it were just a little longer... So sadly, this is going back.  The color truly is beautiful though, and I love it with the gray (I bought it to wear with the tissue ruffle tee that was also delivered today) so I will be keeping a look-out for something else in this color.

Next up, the Tissue Ruffle V Neck Tee in Heather Cloud.  Love, and knew I would.  I have this in the pink color and this is just the same - lovely and versatile.  Can't wait to get it working in my wardrobe.

Third and last, the Cate.  Ah, lovely Cate!  In Soft Seashell... I know many of you have a pair and I have admired them from afar.  Now, at last I have my very own and can't wait to wear them!  I wear an 8 1/2 and found these to be TTS.

  1. Yay! I received my J Crew order today too!

The Cates look lovely. Is the color more peachy or pink?

  2. Jillle - I would say more Peach... I might call it Salmon. And yay for your delivery too! We have a lot of similarities... will you also be watching Housewives tonight with a Margarita in honor of Cinco de Mayo? :) LOL, but not kidding!

  8. The shoes felt pretty good on a quick try-on... in the past J Crew shoes have not worked that great for me (my feet are a little wide) but I have hopes for these, at any rate they are soooo pretty!
Jillle - exactly how I take my margaritas too!

  9. I am so glad you liked the gray tissue tee! I have it in white and couldn't be more satisfied.. It's in second place to the silk chiffon rosette t-shirt!
I am an 8 1/2 too!! It can be kind of a difficult size to find at sales or in department stores, so I'm glad that J.Crew has so many available.

No margarita for me, but definitely RHoNY! Bethenny is my best friend soul mate, I swear..

  10. If the past JC shoes have not worked, you should try out the Joley flats - they are the first ones that have worked for me because of my wide toe box (that's the nice way of saying fat foot). those cates are gorgeous!

I had the same reaction with the linen skirt - it just didn't work for me at all!

  14. Enjoy you Cates, I've already worn mine and they are pretty comfy for high heels!

I'm sorry that the gateway skirt didn't work. Try the Monterey, it's short but definitively more wearable and I think more flowy...
