L-R:
Nars Dolce Vita, Nars Chelsea Girls Lip Lacquer, Bobbi Brown Nude #18, YSL Gloss Pur #48
I really like pink and peach, but usually during the day I keep it pretty neutral. My absolute favorite neutral look right now combines Nars Lipstick in Dolce Vita with Nars Lip Lacquer in Chelsea Girls.
Since the lacquer comes in a pot I use a great retractable lip brush by Sephora - The Professionnel Platinum Square Retractable Lip Brush #60.
For a slightly darker neutral, I'm wearing Bobbi Brown Nude #18 with Yves St. Laurent Gloss Pur in #48 over. I think the Bobbi Brown Nude #18 is pretty close to Brownie #33 - just a little pinker/lighter.
I'd love to hear of any favorite lipstick/gloss combos!

Love your colors! (and your necklace, it's very cute!)
ReplyDeleteI see you've recently watched Talented Mr. Ripley...I love this movie, the clothes & the scenery are so pretty...but,it's so spooky...I've tried to read the books(have you? they are very good but even spookier! :)
Cheers!

thanks lottie! Yes the movie is so spooky but beautiful scenery and clothes... I decided to watch it again after reading part of it was filmed in Positano since we will be going there this summer. I also read the books several years ago and loved them (thinking of reading again)! Spooky but she is such a good writer. I saw a Hitchcock show the other night that she had written... similarly eerie!
ReplyDeleteDear Sparrows&Sparkle,
ReplyDeleteyou have beautiful teeth!
And the nude lipstick look works well for you (I need stronger soft pink - YSL 128 -- the last two in my refrigerator..) And yes: I use a lipbrush too, and a contour liner (from Shiseido - great) - but no lipgloss (though I have it from Bobbi Brown) - my lipstick is shiny enough (and I don't like the sticky feeling) But I do admit: it looks great! (For a longer time I used the slightly blue gittering lipgloss from Diane Brill - but then stopped)
I love that Sephora lip brush, too. It's the best I've ever tried. Your Nars combo is beautiful. My nude is a combo of MAC Hug Me lustre lipstick and MAC Love Nectar lustreglass.
ReplyDeletePretty smile--all the colors you wear look FAB!
ReplyDeleteHi again! I wish I was going to Italy this summer too! I'm sure you'll have loads of fun. :) I've been thinking of reading the Ripley books again too...what is it about hot weather that makes me want to read mysteries? :)
ReplyDeleteI'll look for the Hitchcock.
Cheers!

Britta - thank you! I hope you can find a good replacement for your YSL 128 when you run out.
ReplyDeleteGigi - thanks for the color recs :)
yogagirl - thanks!
lottie - thank you :) The show I saw was from the first season of The Alfred Hitchcock Hour (1962) and called "Annabel".
