Gap Give & Get {August 2010} + some Target earrings

I placed an order online last night with my one-time-use code and then made a quick run through Gap and Banana today to see if I missed anything great.

Here is a try-on pic of what I purchased. I have a close-up of the earrings below:

...and I apparently need to clean my mirror, sorry

close-up of the embellishment on the tee... you can also see this top (and lots of other Gap) on Ema here

Here are the earrings (recent Target find)... I was wearing them with some light gray today:

My other G&G picks won't be here for several days, but here's what is on the way:

Cotton animal print cardi in light gray heather (Banana)

Ruffle-front cap sleeve top in Ludlow bay blue (to wear under above cardi) (Banana)

Silk lace-front shell in cocoon (Banana)

Herringbone band blazer in dark brown (Gap)

Double-breasted funnel cardigan in oatmeal heather (Gap)

(last five pics from Gap & Banana)

.... and also some of Gap's new American in Paris line for my girls... love it.

Anyone else happy with their Give and Get finds?

xoxo

  1. Love your picks! I finally used my Mother's Day gift card and ordered the Leather Utility Jacket which is being shipped from the Chicago store. I'll reserve excitement until the package arrives. Thrilled about the new 1969 jeans for kids. My picky 12 year old son loves the straight cut so I bought 2 pairs for him plus a couple of shirts and a sweater for DH. Also picked up the Women's Striped Tab-Sleeve Shirt dress at Old Navy-a steal at $18.00.

  2. Oh, yay! Thanks, for posting your finds at Gap. I actually got that same stripe top!! It's super cute, and I also saw it on Ema (on her blog) and loved it. I also got the "boyfriend sweater" in a gold/yellow color and now I want this funnel neck sweater, so cozy looking!!!

  3. Super cute stuff, sweetie!! I'm always on the lookout for your choices because you nail it every time. :-)

Two questions -- one, how's the sizing on the animal print cardi? And two, when did you do away with your former blog name "Sweet Tea in Seattle" and what does "Sparrows and Sparkles" refer to (if I'm not being too personal in asking)?

As a Georgia girl myself (for many years, and a native North Carolinian before that), I know how to make some sweet tea JUST right, and I'll raise a glass to you next time I make it!!!

  4. JulieStyles - I'll have to check out those jeans. I have some picky dressers too! Hope you love the jacket - it sounds great.

Mrs.A - I saw it first on Ema too and it is such a great top. I'll have to try to get in and try on the boyfriend sweaters before the sale's over!

JCAUNC Mom - thank you! I didn't try on the animal print cardi but ordered a small like the other pieces. I did see it in store, just didn't try it... hope it fits - that is what I usually take in BR tops. On the blog name - sparrows & sparkles goes back to my original title when I first started the blog about a year and a half ago: Three Sparrows and Some Sparkle - which matches my blogspot url. We do plan to move eventually and the original can follow me anywhere geographically. I write more about travel/vacation locations than anything in the Seattle area. It sort of loosely refers to mommyhood/children (little sparrows) and fashion/fun (a little sparkle). Love Georgia & love sweet tea, so thank you! :)

  9. Love the GAP items and I ordered that BR lace shell too, but won't get excited until I try it on.

  10. Sparrowsandsparkles, my anti-virus software tells me that one of your blog links A Pocketful of Posies has a virus. Not sure if it is the site itself or an advertiser on that blog.

  11. Pierced ears are such a treat! I repearced my ears last winter after decades with plain ears. There are little things that work as easy as earrings for the instant upgrade of your look of the day.
