My Favorite Thing from Nordstrom's August Catalog

I know many are ruffled-out at this point, and personally I do doubt I'll be getting any more ruffly blouses for Fall (Frances is excepted, of course).  But the second I saw this jacket = love, love love!  And then I scanned over to the description and saw that this little lovely is only $68!  Whoa.  Now I don't have anything from the brand Nick & Mo and am not familiar with it, so I do need to see it in person... but from the pic it looks like such a perfect dress-up/dress down little jacket that I soooo want to add it to my Fall wardrobe!

Okay, that was my favorite thing, but as long as we're looking at jackets - and since it is a cool 74 degrees in my house right now, down nearly 20 degrees from last week, I like this one too (shown over a turtleneck in the 2nd pic):

  1. Saw this purple ruffle jacket in Nordstrom today, actually!! And, I think shopaholicdiva did a post on it, too:) It is indeed, lovely:) Ruffles in my opinion, were a little too big and too much for my taste, but it is pretty!! Love the last pic., of the belted jacket.

  2. Really?! I'll have to look for her post! I guess I'll need to try it on to see if the ruffles feel too much for me or not - thanks! :)

  3. Cute jackets. I am not a fan of the elbow sleeve + ruffles. But I love the detail at the collar.

  6. chanel fashionista - YES! I noticed that too and almost mentioned it. Beautiful - A classic and not a bad price for Burberry.
mrs.a - thanks! My camera is nothing fancy - a Panasonic DMC-FX33 from Costco. A couple weekends ago I got sand in it and now it only zooms 1x so I think I may be in the market for another soon... I used the burst mode and told them to jump off that step about five times. The camera just snap-snap-snapped and 2 or 3 of them turned out really great :)

  8. The ruffles on the first blazer are very sophisticated and not little girlish at all. I love ruffles, but looking like a little girl is a no no lol. Great coats for fall!

  9. i personally like the jacket in black. i thought i would like it in wine, but it looked like sweatshirt material with ruffles in the lighter color, but for 68 dollars, i guess i shouldn't complain. I bought it in black. i will try and post pictures this weekend

  10. Patina - I'm so interested to see your pics! I had no idea it came another color. Black might be really fun. Hopefully I can get into a Nordstrom this evening or tomorrow.

  13. I am thinking that I will have a fun Nordies catalog to look through when we get home tomorrow! Given Patina's info above (thanks, Patina!), maybe I'm looking at the 2nd jacket.

  15. I went to Nordstrom to take a look at the Nick & Mo jacket in person. In my store they also had a light heather oatmeal color with cream colored ruffles. It is sweatshirt material but I thought the cut was nice, and the material is heavy enough to keep its shape but still is stretchy and comfortable. I have been wanting a Mike & Chris hoodie for a while but could not justify the cost, and this Nick & Mo jacket (especially with the ruffles!) was a nice compromise for me. I bought the black one. The wine color was more purple in person, and the oatmeal one was more sweatshirtlike and was not there in my size.
I think if you're expecting that it is a more casual piece, then you may like it. I liked reading Patina's review, but I just wanted to say that it did work for me. The Nordstrom SA told me that it is sold out in Wine S in our area. My store had all sizes in black, S & M in oatmeal, and M-XL in wine.
