Banana Republic Ashley Bow Flat

I have had great luck with Banana Republic shoes over the past year or so. My Royal Blue Ashley Bow Flats arrived the other day and they are just as perfect as I expected. My first thought after slipping them on was how cushy the insole is. Nicely padded. I ordered my usual 8.5 and they are a nice fit so I would say they are TTS.

My April J Crew catalog arrived the same day as these BR shoes, with a great styling idea on the first page. I can't say I'll be sporting the pink shorts but I really like the idea of this pink sweater with the flats and white denim for Spring:

Happy Wednesday!

  1. I have those, same color as well. I agree they are TTS. I have put them on w/so many things and they wear well. If they put them out in luscious brights and rich hues like J Crew, I will be all over them.

  2. Gigi I agree. And I think they'll look good with the Modalu bag in Shark :)

  3. I like that they have the rubber bottom. That makes for such a comfortable flat shoe. Great color!

  5. I love the color of these ballet flats! I didn't realize Banana Republic sold shoes. I may try a pair, I wonder if they are a little more cushioned than the J. Crew pair I just got (in tawny sand) which seem so thin I'm afraid I won't make it one city block in them! XO, Jill

    1. Thank you! I've found BR shoes to be comfortable and well made. I have some wedges and sandals from them that also have this nice cushioning :)

  6. Perfect combination. Love it. Have you had a pair of BR flats before? Do they leave blisters?

    1. Only sandals, wedges and boots I think till these... those have all been fine, the sandals & wedges especially comfortable.

  7. What a great thing to tell everyone - I had no idea about BR selling ballet flats this spring but I know they def will be cheaper and more supportive than the J.Crew ones. So so thin and unsupportive! I agree that they look gorgeous as a fun contrast to the Modalu bag in Shark.

    1. I have not had great luck with J Crew shoes... though it's been awhile... but I just haven't found them that comfortable. Thanks re: the bag... I love this shade of blue & gray together.

  10. Dear Sparrows&Sparkle,
the ballerinas have that wonderful blue I truly admire! And that they are well-padded is a godsent when one has to walk a lot.
Saw your Elsie de Wolfe quote for the first time - I'll borrow it in one of my next posts on 'You are witty and pretty" - but will of course mention where I found it. Britta

  12. I like your new pair of ballerinas! I also like the carful packaging. Very thoughtful, the way they protect the bow.

Pink, white, blue + Pearls: Classic! :-)

    1. Thanks! I have found most BR shoes lately to be nicely cushioned and the sizing pretty consistent so I really like ordering online when they have those 25-30% promos :)
