OOTD 12.6.10: Green + Gray

Gray seems to be my new favorite neutral... love it with yellow, and wearing today with green instead of my typical white or black tee.

...and... almost done with the Christmas decorating around here! I am loving the smell of fresh pine tree in our house.

Old Navy Outerwear {on sale}

Old Navy has their outerwear on sale and this great plaid jacket is now 50% off. I wore it this past week on a very windy, low 50's day and it kept me nice and warm. The fabric is densely woven and really kept the chill away. This soft gray/cream is my favorite but they have a couple other great plaids and some solids online right now too. Promo'd at just $29.00 it is an amazing deal! If you shop online, don't forget to go through ebates - ON has 8% cash back right now.

I also bought this jacket in this happy yellow. The feel of the fabric is very similar and I love the stand-up, slightly ruffled collar.

Old Navy Outerwear Sale

I ran into Old Navy yesterday. It was pretty crowded with the outwear sale and deals they have going on right now. They had lots of associates working though, and no long lines, so I picked up a darling little coat that I had seen previously (but I hadn't wanted to pay $69.50 for it). I think this was a great deal at $34.75 and am envisioning it with a tee or t-neck, slim black ankle pants and my black TB Revas or with jeans and tall black boots. I love the colors in the plaid and it is very nice construction for the price. They also had this jacket in solids, and there is a gray plaid online that I didn't see in-store.

Deal(s) of the Day: ON & Target

** update:  I added IRL pics here**

OK.  I went out for white tee shirts and toothpaste but also ended up with a cute dress & top which often happens when I walk in to Old Navy and Target.  So here are my finds today:

First, a simple soft corduroy dress from Old Navy in a lovely mushroom-y hue (ON calls it "Wise Owl" I believe) - such easy dressing.  I picture this with black tights and my tall black J Crew Brewster boots.  Makes me wish for cooler temps! Priced at $29.50 but on promo for $15.00.  That's FIFTEEN dollars! Online "Black Jack" is the only color marked down, but in my store all the colors were $15.00.

And from Target, the Mossimo "long sleeve double vee top", Blue Print/248451 $16.99.  This looks much better on than on the hanger - just watch the sleeve openings because on the one I tried on the elastic was not gathered on one of them.  It has a slightly wide double v-neck but did not at all feel like it was going to slip off my shoulders.  Again, very comfy.  Also came in a purplish-black print, but this blue print reminds me of something Tory Burch might do.  I plan to wear with black capris and my TB Revas.

Next posts will be on the road... Happy Sunday!

OOD 3.21.09 - Heading to Target

Not surprisingly, I am wearing a couple of items from my Friends and Family box that arrived yesterday afternoon!  The navy sweater is just such a perfect little cardi for the price ($14.00).  It is still a deal at $20.00 imo, and I may have to pick up another one before too long.  Also, I've wanted a gray striped tank since seeing J Crew's version.  I love the painterly look of J Crew's but I don't always love the tissue weight they are so fond of...  ON's version is their hearty ribbed tank... I have so many of these in white and they last forever!  At $3.50 I would say that is an amazing bargain.  My venti latte is going to cost more this morning.

Also, I picked up a couple cute necklaces at F21 last night.  I believe that may have been my very first purchase there, although I've been in to look a couple times.  They are super cute and were amazingly cheap!  I'll review later... right now I've got to get to my beloved Starbuck drive-thru and on to a little shopping.  My Polyvore for today is below with one  IRL pic.  Reviews of anything fabulous I come across today to follow along with info on the F21 necklaces!

The Friends and Family Box Arrives

Yay!  Happy Friday from the UPS man!  As I drove out to pick up my girls from school I saw this lovely little box sitting on my front porch.  Everything is great!  14 items - 14 very wearable, useful, and cute items, more importantly - for under $115 before tax.  Yes!

I have to get my girls to ballet in 30 minutes but I wanted to do a quick post.  Just about everything was just as I expected... the braided sandals are cute, cute, cute... ruffle neck cardigan in "Dark Night" is a perfect basic navy cardi... the tanks and tees are, well, ON tanks and tees, and perfect layering pieces.  The sleeveless button front cotton shirt in "Bright Coral" is brighter than I expected - kind of an orangey-red - but they did say "bright".  And I LOVE the jacket!  I posted about it here and I liked it... but that was in a M size in olive.  I ordered a S size in Radiant Red and now I love it.  SO Cute!!!  And only $21.00.  I snapped a couple quick pics in it in front of the mirror in our entryway.

Old Navy Friends and Family Order

OK - I've placed my online order.  Very excited I could stack the free shipping code with the 30% off F&F and I went through ebates for an additional 3% cash back.  On top of all this, 5% of my spending is going to charity thanks to Gap's Give & Get program.  Great idea.  What do you think J Crew?

I just love ON's basic tanks and tees and on some items I just don't want to spend a lot.  I love the idea of saving up for a special handbag and investing in quality shoes or a special coat or dress (quality over quantity...), but with three small children, cats, a husband, and a house to take care of, well, most of what I wear just cannot be too precious (or expensive to replace).  With that in mind, I ordered 7 tops/tees, a jacket, a sweater, a scarf, 2 pairs of sandals - and some shorts & a polo for my little boy - all for $112.70 before tax! *happy dance*  I'll review my lovely bargain box when it arrives.  Hope Mr. UPS Driver remembers how to get here... it's been awhile.

on their way! (in sliver too) ...only $8.75 a pair

Item Review: ON Lightweight Cropped Twill Jacket

So I am putting together my Old Navy wishlist for the upcoming Friends & Family event and one of the items I added I tried on yesterday in-store:  The Lightweight Cropped Twill Jacket.  I tried it on a M in an olive color which is not shown on the website but I think I am actually going to go for it in Radiant Red.  I also won't pair it with such a full cardi (I have on the Ruched Slub-Knit Cami in Valencia Orange under it in the fitting room but I was just trying things on).  The cotton fabric feels great and is a nice weight for a Spring layer.  It has slash pockets in the front, fuller 3/4 sleeves, and some classic trench detailing but a nice swingy silhouette that makes me think 1960's.  It is currently on the website for $30.  I am guessing they will put it back to the regular price of $39.50 when F&F rolls around, but the 30% discount will make that $27.65.

Old Navy Report 3.7.09

I know that Gap/BR/ON Friends & Family is coming up thanks to some wonderful blogs like J Crew Aficionada and Gigi's Gone Shopping so I ran in today (I did *not* go to Target, btw.  Drove right past.) to check things out, keeping in mind my future 30% discount on the prices.  (So many cute, cute floral prints and great basics!  The selection of dresses for little girls was great too... I am going to have to take my girls back to pick out some things for summer.)

I did go ahead and get a few things... this cardigan was on special for $15 (regularly $19.50).  I'm sure it will be back up to regular price during F&F so it won't be that much more of a discount.  This cardigan is very, very similar to the Reading Room Cardigan which I recently tried on at Anthropologie for $68.00 and was considering purchasing - similar color, similar style, very soft just like Anthro's.  The Anthropologie one has nicer sleeves and smocking at the shoulders -  which is a beautiful detail - but not worth $53.00 to me.  I can use the ON one in that same way.  Also, the perfect tanks were $5 - I got a brown one - and I couldn't resist the  ruched slub-knit tank in a soft turquoise ('airwalker') - very J Crew-esque - and a great deal for $10.  It is online for $8.  Under the putty colored cardi, the color combo reminds me of a beautiful outfit that Slastena (About All and Nothing at All) put together and showed on her fabulous blog here.  There was also a darker turquoise ('pacifica')  that was virtually the same fabrication/color of a J Crew tank I have.  Pretty!  I also picked up a skinny elastic double headband in black for $4.50.  I'd been looking for something like that at a reasonable price for awhile.

I also purchased the beautiful Heathered Jersey Scarf - it feels like the softest t shirt - for $12.50.  When I saw it on Shasta on her blog I absolutely had to have it!  It is the prettiest shade of blue!  I am not a Bergdorf Blonde, but I do have blue eyes and I love to wear this color.  (I do have Plum Sykes' book and loved it - fun read.)  This scarf sold out at the closest ON to me, so I had it held at another and zipped up to get it.  Couldn't take a chance on missing that one!  So here it is:

These I didn't buy but tried on:

The print on these tanks really reminds me of J Crew's Gladiola print!  They are $10 but I can wait for F&F.

These dresses were darling!  If I get one, I will put a cami under it - it was a little too low-cut for me in the fitting room.
