New Nick & Nora at Target + A Happy Candle

I bought these two jammie sets this weekend at Target. The berry print and flowery pink with bee accents are awfully cute too.

"Sitting Pretty" Woodrose/284991 $27.99

"Python" Blue/284991 $27.99

Also found this candle, which I have burning right now. It's soy and has a happy, citrus scent. I don't know what sparkling yuzu is, but I like it.

I'm reading some P.G. Wodehouse now and he's just so funny. I don't know how I went so long without reading any of his books... he's written so much. I also recently watched the first episode of Cranford - really delightful - going to find time for two and three soon.

Today's Target Find {if you missed it last year}

Last year I bought this cardigan at Target and the price per wear has got to be closing in on pennies. By the time I realized how much I liked it, the other colorway was gone (tan/cream). Well... it's back! And I brought one home today. The sizing appears to be the same - I bought Smalls. There is no gray/black this year (that I've seen yet) but there is a nice blue/black version.

I don't see these online, only this, which is out of stock and says Oatmeal/Cream while the tag on mine says Cream/Tan -- so I don't know if it is last year's or the current one just not available online yet.

I'm actually wearing last year's today:

Happy Friday!

Coffee This Morning, Missonified

Did you shop it? Was it crazy where you were too?

I'm sure there will be replens, but I did participate a little bit in the craziness that was Missoni for Target opening day, September 13, 2011.

Ended up with the ballet flats and pumps, a cardi for each of my girls, the black long open cardigan for myself, some stationery, two mugs, and the candle votives. The votives are beautiful -- one of my favorite pieces from the collection.

Today's Target Finds {Summery Tops}

Last year around this time Target came out with the fabulous Teagan Tunic (that I'll be wearing again soon) so I was hoping they'd have another great print this year and I ran across it today: The Callie Tunic in Brown.

It is pretty sheer, so when not wearing it over a swimsuit I'll wear a cami. I'm picturing it with white jeans and TB sandals. The trim on this is a nice mustard-gold and the swirly pattern is done in that with white and a lovely sea blue. The body of this is loose and flowy but the arms are cut a little more fitted so I went with a medium.

The other summer vacation-in-mind top I bought today is this Xhiliration tank. Again I went with medium as the small didn't seem to have quite enough coverage. The straps are adjustable and the crinkly fabric is a nice medium weight. The lacey details are beautiful, though they don't continue around the back - there is elastic at the back of the empire waist for a comfy snug fit. The back bottom hem is plain. I saw this one in quite a few colors and navy was my favorite. I can't find it online but it may just be too new. The tag says XHIL TANK NAVY/274426, 282 02 1014, and it is priced at $17.99.

All of the promos out there have been getting me shopping lately. My recent J Crew and Saks F&F buys are on Polyvore (link on sidebar) and I'll try to get some reviews up soon after I receive them. Banana Republic also has 30% off your entire online order today (code BRKING30) and Ann Taylor Loft has 40% off (excludes swimwear), also today only with code SHOP40.

Today's Target Find {stripy scarf}

Mossimo Supply Co. Stripe Scarf Blue 061081449 - $12.99

A while ago the outfit on p. 200 of my Spring Boden catalog caught my eye and I decided a navy striped scarf would be perfect this Spring and Summer...

...but I just wasn't sure about the $48 price tag for a simple striped scarf and thought I'd look around for something similar. Today I found it at Target. The one I bought is a crinkly gauzy poly fabric - different from Boden's 100% cotton jersey Stripy Scarf - but the look is close enough for me.

This will be great with white tees, colorful cardis and denim or khakis all Spring.

I also stopped by the Chanel counter today and picked up a Rouge Coco in a new Spring hue and the *gorgeous* Peche Nacree nail polish which will be my very next manicure. I know I haven't even posted my two InStyle drugstore lipsticks or the rest of my J Crew Factory order yet, but I will hopefully have some time to get a few posts up over the next week.

Happy Weekend!

OOTE 2.7.11 {featuring J Crew Factory}

Happy Tuesday! Here's last night for dinner out, wearing the Palmera Cami in "soft dove" from my recent Factory sale order. I really like the layered loops on this - a departure from ruffles and rosettes, but still a little fluffy and fun. The leopard print is done in a soft blue-gray. Nice combo.

J Crew Factory Palmera Cami, J Crew Factory Merino Forever Cardigan in a pale pink (last Summer) , Joe's Jeans black denim, Cole Haan Air Talia in Greystone, Michele watch, DY bracelets, Target earrings

I also like the cami with hot pink and black:

Hope everyone's starting out a great week.

Today's Target Find {sparkly earrings}

After a long while of not really seeing anything in the Target jewelry department, I'm starting to find some things again. I recently came home with these sparklers for under $8.:

215012637 Earring Crystal/116589

All these jumbled, "pearl" and clear faceted "stone" with antique-y looking metal pieces are reminding me of things we've been seeing at places like J Crew for awhile now. Nice to see this look at such great price points.

Today's Target Find {Alfred Hitchcock}

Sometimes (especially with the dreary weather this time of year), I find myself in the mood for a fire, my cozy couch and a little Alfred Hitchcock suspense.

This weekend I came across this dvd set at Target - and while I don't like the idea of collecting piles of discs with all the easy ways to watch movies On Demand, on iPad, etc etc - I just couldn't pass this up for $2.00. Yes, two dollars -- less than half the price of the venti nonfat cinammon dolce latte I was holding in my other hand.

I don't see this one online, but I do see a four disc set (available only in stores) that says "20 Movie Classics" (mine has ten). The two disc set I have has an approximate runtime of 12 hours and 28 minutes and features:

The Chaney Vase, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Blackmail, Champagne (silent), The Farmer's Wife (silent), The Lady Vanishes, The Manxman (silent), Rich and Strange, Secret Agent, and The Thirty-Nine Steps.

...I also came across some sparkly and nicely-priced earrings. Review on those up next.

Hope everyone's starting out a great week.

Today's Target Find {flannel jammies}

purple night owl

A year or so ago I bought a couple of the Nick & Nora for Target 100% cotton flannel pj sets and they have washed and worn beautifully. I was at Target today and noticed some new prints in that same comfy style. I bought "purple night owl" and "pink monkey bars". These are regularly $24.99 but currently on sale for $17.00.

{pet pajamas}

Well, I went nearly 9 months without buying our puppy a single article of clothing, but of course Target did me in. Here is Winnie modeling his new jammies... only $4.99 for these cuties. The tag says "PETS HOLIDAY" so they look to be seasonal. He did bite off both decorative buttons shortly after these pics, so I'd recommend removing them if you have a chewer.

Today's Target Find {Mossimo Fairisle Sweater Wrap}

the back

I bought the Mossimo Supply Co. Juniors Wrap Sweater Coat (I'd call it a vest) a little over a week ago and wore it yesterday for a soccer game and taking care of things around the house. It does "shed" so I probably won't wear it with all black again. The detailed knitting on this has a beautifully handmade look and I'd guess it were much more expensive than a $30. Target find. I purchased the Espresso but also saw it in gray with black, gray with brown, and cream. The website has a promo on this where you buy one, get one at 50% off. If they'd had that in store, I probably would've gotten the cream color too.

Mossimo Sweater Wrap in Espresso/261679 (size Medium), ON turtleneck in Black, Mossimo ponte leggings in Black - I added brown Uggs for the soccer game

Happy Sunday!

Mossimo Waterfall Cardigan

Here's another great Target find: the Mossimo Waterfall Cardigan. I saw these in-store but didn't really give them a second thought. But then I saw this post by Megan over at PIPM and I took another look. When I tried them on, I instantly knew this cardi would be a great addition to my wardrobe. I purchased the black/grey and wore it yesterday -- and it just has that feel of something I've owned for years and am completely comfortable in. I may just have to go back for the other color combo...

Here's yesterday:

the stripes look off here but they do line up (see very last pic)... I just have it on a little crooked

Mossimo Waterfall Cardigan, ON Jersey Turtleneck in Black Jack, Paige Denim, Gray Uggs, Silver hoop earrings, Chanel sunglasses

Winnie wants in on the picture...

And here is the shape of the cardi flat... cool, huh?!

Happy Wednesday!

The Mossimo Ponte Leggings {+ a new OPI polish & small mention of Cher}

I was alerted to the fabulousness of these ponte leggings by Shasta, who writes for CupcakeMAG. She said they were very much like J Crew's pixie pants at a fraction of the price. Now, I never did buy any of the pixies, but I can attest that these Mossimo Skinny Ponte Leggings are wonderful... the fabric feels and looks great; they are thick, comfortable, and definitely give me a feeling of support or being rather "firmed up". There is a seam front and back down the legs, and wide elastic waistband. No zippers or closures. I put mine through the washer and (accidentally, even though the tag says tumble dry is okay) the dryer inside-out... and they came out beautifully. Then I went out and bought a second pair.

Here are a couple ways I've worn them so far:

Old Navy Cowlneck Tunic Sweater in Graphite, Mossimo Leggings, J Crew Brewster boots (last year)

a little chilly -- so I added a J Crew outlet denim jacket from a few years ago before I headed out

the leggings again, with an Old Navy Perfect V-Neck Tee, Target Mossimo Boyfriend Cardigan in Heather Oatmeal, Gray Uggs and Burberry scarf

This boyfriend cardi from Target is priced at just $20 and comes in lots of colors... even a couple with stripes. It is just the length I like with leggings. It is pretty thin -- you can see the outline of my tee sleeve easily in the pics.

Also, please pardon the three shades of OPI polish on my thumb that I was testing out at the salon... which brings me to this:

Yes. That is Cher on the left (Cher! My Cher story is here.) and when I walked into the nail salon and saw this display, I knew I must get one of these colors for my pedicure. I chose "Let Me Entertain You", a sparkly, shimmery, bright and happy fuschia:
