Dior Rouge Dior Andalouse #435

When I'm not wearing something neutral or pink, I love a coral or peachy smile in the summer. This year, it's courtesy Dior Rouge Andalouse #435 with Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss Glow #236 over.

For me, Andalouse is pretty bright (Sephora lists as a "bright coral") and the gloss softens it up a bit as well as adding that shine - making the color more peachy and subtle. I've found the Dior Addict brush to load with quite a bit of gloss from the tube which can get a little gloppy so I have to wipe off quite a bit on the side. It's also on the stickier/heavier side of gloss - compared to say Nars or Chanel Glossimer - in my opinion, so I apply pretty sparingly.

The Rouge Dior seems to be a pretty typical lipstick formula - not as hydrating as the Dior Addict I wrote about in the last post - but not drying either. Just a nice lipstick in a range of pretty colors.

Neutrals are what I wear most of the time - I have two current favorite combos - one a little darker, the other very natural. I'll post on those next.

Dior Addict Dior Kiss #578

So there was some tweeting recently about the Dior Addict lipstick worn by Kate Moss in a recent advertisement... #578 "Dior Kiss". I've been on a lipstick/gloss kick lately -- but in search of the perfect neutrals and peaches -- obviously completely neglecting the pink family.

I looked it up online and the Dior Addict line comes in the most beautiful range of pinks... from barely there to bubblegum to hot... so I went to Sephora this morning to check them out in person. For me, the perfect rosy pink came down to Dior Kiss #578 (described as "sheer dark pink") or Paris #762 (described as "hot pink shimmer"). Paris was a little sparklier and lighter it seemed. I came home with the slightly deeper hued Dior Kiss.

This lipstick absolutely feels like a lip balm on my lips. I love it. It is pigmented enough to show up like a regular lipstick, but just so moisturizing - with such a gorgeous sheen - that I don't feel like it needs a gloss over it. Perfect for Summer simplicity.

Christian Dior on Avenue Montaigne, Paris

Of all the big names I visited in Paris last week, Dior was the most magical. Chanel was so impressive, Louis Vuitton amazing, but Dior just seems to take you back in time... You can easily picture Grace Kelly or another elegant woman from that era walking through the door when you are in this shop. I adore the light gray and white facade of the store - and - inside - just beauty everywhere you turn!

I did not make a purchase here, but since we returned I have visited the website and found the Pink Dior Cherie bag. It doesn't even pop up as an option on the US version of the Dior site and I can't find it at SFA or NM so I can't order it. But - if you go to the UK version of the site, you can see it under the Dior Signature and Logo section. They describe it as "Basket bag in pink coated canvas, 'Cannage' print with embroidery effect". I describe it as "Perfect".

So, Dior Cherie bag... you are at the top of my current handbag wishlist.

Oh, but I did end up with one little Dior treat from the Nordstrom sale which we stopped by last night after dinner - the Escale a Portofino eau de toilette. I just love this fresh yet warm citrusy scent (bergamot, citron, almond, orange blossom and cypress)- and for the sale the 4.2 oz size is wrapped up with a complimentary Miss Dior Cherie moisturizer - which has notes of green tangerine, strawberry leaves, violet and caramelized popcorn! Fun!
