So, Lands' End Canvas is running a really good sale this week called The Classifieds... specific items were listed at opening prices on Saturday, marked down 25% on Monday and today they were marked down 50%. On Friday whatever's left will go 75% off.

I scored a $130 cashmere cardigan for $31.50 this morning and a $180 cashmere cardigan for $36.00 (I hope, because now both size/color combinations show as out of stock).

What I Bought at Lands' End {+ a new polyvore group!}

I promise I will not be writing exclusively about Lands' End... I still love J Crew, Louis Vuitton, OPI nail polish, talking travel, and taking pictures of what I am cooking/eating ;) ... but I wanted to post my purchases from yesterday.

I also wanted to let any fellow Polyvore-aficionadas know that I just started a new group! I did a search on Lands' End and couldn't find anything... so I put together "Living in Lands' End" which should be easy to find... one set, one member - that's me! Update: two sets! three members! thanks, mrsanketell and JBinSF! :)

Please feel free to join me and submit sets if you are liking what's coming out for Spring as much as I do!

And here's what I just could not leave at the store yesterday:

The Tretorn Nylites in Navy $55, The Striped Jersey Boatneck Sailor T-shirt in True Navy/Ivory $29.50, and the Cotton Linen Gauze Scarf in True Navy Diamond $29.50

I first tried on my usual 8.5 and they were fine but the 9 gave me a roomier fit in the toe, without slipping at all in the heel, so I went with the 9. The (super sweet) saleslady told me that people were all over the Tretorn shoe display yesterday. I can't remember exactly how she said it, but it was so cute... something about buzzing around like bees to a hive or something. Anyway, they've apparently been very popular and I believe I only saw one 8.5 and one 9, which I bought, left in the navy.

These come in little girls' sizes also, priced at $35 and $45, and while my six-year-old says she probably wouldn't wear them, my eight-year-old would love a pair and said she wants to get the same color as mine and wear them on the same day. How sweet is that?!

I absolutely love the scarf and have it on right now with a white tee and navy cardi. I've never really thought about wearing casual spring-y/summer-y scarves before but I really like them! They just pull your outfit together a bit and are very nice if you get a slight breeze or it's not really quite that warm. They just add a little something to an otherwise super simple/cas outfit.

The striped tee I had been planning on getting in the other colorway, but it wasn't in yet and I really like they way this one looks under bright yellow and orange and light pink - would be great under red too - so I decided to go ahead and get this one. I know I'll get a lot of wear out of it.

Now, here are the little cards that they have at the cashwrap. It looks like they may be giving them out when you make a purchase, to use on your next purchase. I asked about them and the SA applied right away. I'll be back for sure, anyway!

Inside is a barcode for an in-store purchase and a promotion code/PIN for an online purchase. They are printed in little white boxes and appear to be one time use only. The card pictured on the left is good through February 28th and the one on the right is good March 1 - March 31. The promo is $15 off of a $75 purchase of full-price Lands' End merchandise. They say they may be used at the Lands' End shop at Sears or at Lands' End Inlet.

Boden Pre-Order: Crewneck Cardi & Embellished Flats {+ a little more on LE}

Way back in November I took advantage of Boden's 20% off + FS/FR offer and pre-ordered a couple of Spring items, the Favourite Crewneck Cardigan in Sealion Leopard and the Embellished Flats in Navy.

The crewneck I have already worn three times... it is soft, comfy, stretchy and I love the button detailing. I wore it over a navy tank with jeans and boots this first time in the pic. I ordered a UK size 10, which I think on the old size charts they translated to a large 4/small 6 US. The cardi is tagged UK 10/US 6 now that they are including US sizing. In J Crew I would normally order a Small or a 4 in a cardi or jacket. This is slightly roomier than a J Crew Small cardi would fit me. The fabric feels great on. If you are not sure what size to order, the Boden website actually gives dimensions specific to each garment in each size -- not just a general size chart. I love this feature!

Now the shoes... first of all... I ADORE these! The quality, the design, the detail... seriously the word "couture" sprang to mind when I first looked at the embellishment in person. Gray satin wraps across the toe of the shoe, topped with gorgeous grograin and sparklies. I ordered a 39 in these as I almost always wear an 8.5 or 39 and have a pair of peeptoe pumps from Boden from a few years back in a 39 that fit well. Well... I put my foot in and squoosh. My toes were right up against the edge of the shoe. I could probably hobble along okay but I want to get a lot of wear out of these. So the lovely 39s are on their way back to exchange for some size 40s. Please, Boden, don't sell out of my size and send them to their new home quickly! I can't wait to wear these! Oh, and thank you for the free returns.

These also come in silver and a pink that looks quite dark on my screen.

Also, I was in Lands' End again today. I know, I know... I just had to check on that Spring store-set. Well there was only one pair of the navy Tretorns in my size, so I bought them plus a couple other things - reviews & pics coming up next post!

Oh - And! There were stacks of coupons at the cashwrap for $15 off your $75 purchase. If you aren't offered one, be sure to ask about them - I did and the sales associate went back and adjusted my purchase. They are printed with individual (one time use it looks like) codes.

A Visit to Lands' End

So after leafing through the current Lands' End catalog and reading everyone's comments and opinions, I just had to make a run to Sears today to check things out in person.

First off, look at this cute set-up:

There was an extensive sale section for Fall/Winter (most of the department), which they are calling Winter's End and marking prices 20% to 50% off (I saw a LOT of 50% off), and shoes were 70% off (yes! they have shoes!). I am pretty sure these percentages were off of already reduced marked prices. Some great deals, but I didn't find anything I loved left in my size.

There was also a big swim/resort section but I didn't see the sailor tee I was interested in so asked the sales associate. She was extremely helpful and nice. She said that they would be starting the new store-set that night and that most all of the Spring merchandise was still packed up in boxes in the back and offered to check and see if the tee was back there. When she checked, they only had the petite size in the navy w/white stripe. I'd like to get the other colorway and in a regular size so I passed but I did get to feel the fabric and it is a very nice, thick, heavy knit. Not a regular tee shirt material - almost a sweater knit, if that makes sense. I love it. It's on the list.

I was also happy to see these:

The classic Tretorn Nylite shoe! They had this one with navy and one that was all white. They are priced at $55.00. I remember these from school days way (way) back and these are a must-have on my list. Besides, the only other slightly similar shoe I have are the ones I work out in (or will soon be working out in again, I promise) and Hubby has told me it's not good for running shoes to be worn day to day & out and about.

I tried on a couple of the current cardis:

Fine Gauge Drape Cardigan in Pewter Heather, size small - $69.50

Supima Fine Gauge Cardigan in Soft Fern, size small - $39.50

I really like this cardigan! This was the last one in my size and was on a display (hence the one rolled up sleeve) and had a little grease mark on it so I didn't get it, but I will be ordering. This is very similar to the J Crew Jackie but it is a more substantial, thicker fabric. I do prefer J Crew's colors -- I wish this came in a baby pink! -- but I have to say that the Desert Brown and Misty Lavender Jackies I bought last year are looking a little worn these days. I need cardis that can hold up to a good bit of wear, being wrapped around my waist, tossed in a bag, and machine washed. I think this one will!

The sales associate also told me if you want something that they don't have in the store, they will order it for you with free shipping to your home.

Lastly, I must share this adorable look for the little ones. I am going to show this to my girls and I really hope one of them likes it:

I love baby pink with navy. They also had an outfit like this put together with the jacket in navy, a skirt out of the same fabric, and a yellow/white stripe tee. Also adorable! The tee looks much like the mommy one but it is a true t-shirt knit. Very soft.

We used to live in Boston and were able to visit a lot of the beautiful surrounding area. While I haven't been to Maine or Rhode Island in years, I can totally picture the family on a rocky beach having a clambake or eating lobster rolls when I look at this outfit!

Happy Weekend!

Lands' End Spring

Lands' End's Spring catalog arrived in my mailbox today, and while I haven't purchased anything from them in a long while, I must admit there are some cute things in there! I just love this picture... doesn't it make you want to go for a bike ride?! (if it weren't freezing and raining/snowing?!)

The driving moc shown comes in some great colors and is priced at $89.50. It looks very J Crew-esque to me. The classic ballet flat is such a lovely, simple style and is only $39.50.

I've got my eye on the classic sailor boatneck tee on page 93 too:

Sailor Tee $29.50 to $34.50

I have one or two more Hawaii posts coming up... lots of pictures to sift through!

Happy Thursday! We're almost to Friday!
