Anthropologie Sweater Sale

Wow - 50% off full priced sweaters and outerwear at Anthropologie. I don't recall so many great sales like this in years past...

I have these two on the way:
(The prices changed automatically when I added these items to my cart, no code needed. Runs today and tomorrow.)

The Ballard candle sconces for the study (the room I just painted Weimaraner) that were backordered from early November finally arrived yesterday. They are fabulous... love the glow of candlelight. Pics soon.

The Lunar Cycles Top {Anthropologie}

I absolutely love the Lunar Cycles Top from Anthropologie. It's a little boho/70's, a little lacy/feminine, and in a nice solid that can be accessorized a million ways. Flowy and light to keep you cool, but not shapeless. I was really happy to find it in-store after seeing that it sold out online pretty quickly. There may still be some in stores, but during my hunt I discovered that it is by The Addison Story and is available in "ivory" (I'd call mine white) at Saks Fifth Avenue online (currently in XS, S and M). The Saks description says theirs is an exclusive and comes with a camisole underpinning - the one I have from Anthro did not.

I wore this when we visited Pearl Harbor last week.

OOTD 6.26.10: Sprinkled Shells + Pink

I made up this Polyvore over a week ago and finally decided to wear it today despite the gray clouds & cool temps (my landscape looks nothing like the one in the Polyvore right now). I hadn't intended on wearing anything over the top but it's still just too chilly so I had to add something and went with an old pink J Crew cotton cardi -- I do like the color with the steely dark gray-navy blue (can that be a color?) of the top.

I've been admiring the sea-theme kitchen & dining at Anthropologie for a while and now much of it's on sale (along with lots of other new markdowns today)!

I love a few fresh accents of blue in our home which is decorated quite a bit with warm colors... and just the whimsy and general beachiness of these pieces:

Sun & Surf Dishtowel $24.00 - now $14.95

Tidal Bounty Dessert Plate (3 other patterns) $14.00 - now $7.95

Anthropologie: dishtowels {+ an apron}

I've loved the whimsical, vintage-y dishtowels at Anthropologie for years and I recently found a couple sweet ones to decorate my kitchen:

Pineapple Peel and Chirps and Chats dishtowels (the names make me like them even more)

"Welcome Home" -- how nice to see when you walk in your kitchen :)

...and I've noticed that I am not always the neatest cook (and I am trying to cook more often), so I've finally purchased an apron. Anthropologie's range is so sweet and feminine - a great place to find one if you're so inclined!

3-D Toile Half Apron in "Crimson" (looks more hot pink to me) -- also available in "Aqua" (a pretty light blue)

Happy Friday tomorrow and wishes for a wonderful weekend ahead!

Anthropologie: Blue Pots

I found these great crackled, aged turquoise-y glazed pots at Anthropologie last week and brought a couple home for my bell shelves (I switch out candles, etc. on them all the time). I've used really warm, cozy colors in our main living areas - Audubon Russet, Chestertown Buff, pecan velvet, toffee - so I like a few little pops of blue here and there to keep things fresh, especially in the Spring and Summer.

I couldn't find these online. There were a couple of styles and sizes varied slightly. Mine are about 7 1/2 inches high. There was also a cream color. The number on the sticker is 17559519. Made in China. $8.00 each. Yes, eight dollars, as in less than two grande-nonfat-caramel-macchiatos, each.

Happy Tuesday!

OOTD 1.16.10: Blooming Phlox in Yellow

On Saturday we drove up to Vancouver, BC for a little weekend getaway so I went super comfy (ok, actually I go super comfy most everyday) with my new happy yellow Blooming Phlox tank from Anthropologie, jeans, cardi and ballet flats. I really reeeaaallly wanted to put a charcoal gray cardi with this but I don't have one. I have medium gray, lt. gray, pewter... but not charcoal. I put this yellow next to a pullover cowlneck in charcoal and it looked so great but a pullover cowlneck just wouldn't work. So I went with this brown which I do also like (still - am currently on the hunt for a charcoal cardigan):

Anthropologie Blooming Phlox Tank in yellow, Target pointelle wrap cardi in Brown, Paige Premium Denim, Anthropologie Bauble Bath bracelet, Anthropologie Sweetest Hive earrings, La Scarpa suede ballerina flats in brown (bought this past summer in Paris)

I have a couple more vacation outfits and a few Vancouver pics to post too -- coming up!

Anthropologie Fitting Room Snaps {4 sale tops}

So this morning I had a little spare time (was able to postpone the office a little bit) so I headed over to Anthropologie and J Crew to check out the sales and new arrivals. At Anthropologie, I couldn't find most of the new arrivals I was interested in but the sale section was pretty extensive so I ended up purchasing three of the four sale tops shown below:

Deletta's Blooming Phlox tank in Yellow (XS) - $58 marked to $29.95
this also came in red and gray

Anthropologie's pic

Project Alabama's Diaphanous Tunic in Lilac (4) - $88 marked to $39.95
this is super sheer so I left my tee on under it for the pics - I'll wear it with a cami

little yellow button's Cloverleaf Scoopneck in gray with dots (M) - $48 marked to $29.95

little yellow button's Cloverleaf Scoopneck in Blue Motif (M) - this is the one I did not buy but I believe it was priced the same as the gray dot one above

Anthropologie: Super Sale Mystery Cardi

**Update: mystery solved, much thanks to Roxy: it is Tabitha's Marled Bolero and I was able to find a cached Anthro pic online:**

Marled Bolero - originally $128.00
Anthropologie's cardi, Anthropologie's pic

Here is another Anthropologie piece I found shopping with Mom that she went back and bought for me for Christmas. I can't find it online but I remember it had a huge markdown - it was under $30 with the original retail waaay above that. The brand is Tabitha and it is an acrylic/wool/poly blend.

There were several in-store hanging on a fixture and when I see such a big markdown with so many of an item left, I generally think something must be off about it - fit, etc. I tried it on anyway because I loved the marl knit and colors, and was pleasantly surprised that I really liked it on.

It is extremely warm -- very thick and cozy -- but the wide cropped sleeves, short length, and single hook closure make it so that it is not overwheming or suffocating. Just the perfect thing to throw on when the house feels a little cool or it is chilly out. To me it has that home-made, one-a-kind feel that I love to stumble upon at Anthropologie.

So far I have only tried it over ivory/white, but I am on the look-out for turtlenecks and tees in the right brown or pinks/burgundies to wear under it also.

If anyone has seen this online or on Polyvore and has a name for it, please let me know!

xoxo
