Today's Treat: Piperlime Secret Sale

For those who don't get their emails, Piperlime has been running a "Week of Treats" and today's treat is an extra 15% off final sale items.  One day only - ends March 20th (today) at 11:59 ET.  It looks like these items are "final sale" in the J Crew sense - meaning no returns and no exchanges.  The code is SECRET.  I will probably check this out later in the afternoon. (They carry shoes and handbags.)

Even with promotions, I have found the same shoes for less money at www.endless.com, but who knows - as the promotions flying around just keep getting better and better!

I got a late start this morning... coffee maker jammed... what in the world.  So Hubby had to fix it and now it is already 7:30 and time to go wake those little darlings!  I will try to get today's Polyvore set published later today :)
And, by the way, Yay!  It's Friday!

Corso Como "Pam" - was $175, on sale for $79.97, with code $67.98

Nordstrom Rack: Jewelry Central!

Alright, after FFM's fabulous review of the Nordstrom Crystal Collection pave earrings (the ones similar to J Crew's $45.00 Fireballs) I had to go on a little search. Success! Love! I also found some loooooooooong faux pearl necklaces, so now I can knot! (Which I believe I read about in another FFM post or comment.) So thank you so much for the lovely ideas coming all the way from Florida! And look for more necklace-knotting in upcoming Polyvores! btw I broke the clasp on my real pearl necklace :( while trying on clothes at AT Loft this morning and sent a pearl ricocheting around the fitting room... add a trip to the jewelers to my list...

Here are today's scores:

Nordstrom Rack faux pearl necklace $11.97 and
Crystal Collection earrings $15.97

The necklace knotted! Whee!

AT Loft Review: Swiss Dot V-Neck Empire Top

Interestingly, AT Loft's website says this is an "online only" style but there were lots of these in white and yellow hanging at the back of the store in the sale section.  The yellow is very bright and I didn't see any other colors.  Pink and blue are also featured online.

I'm not crazy about the thin elastic at the sleeves, but otherwise I like this top.  I understand empire tops can look "maternity" but I still love an empire top.  It's a nice combination with the swiss dot fabric in a fresh white (they call it "ivory" but is a very light ivory).

AT Loft Review: Rosette Scoopneck Top

Well I breezed right through Banana today... nothing really stood out.  I saw a big "25% off" sign outside the door but the fine print was that it was only on certain tees when you bought 3.

So I walked down to Ann Taylor Loft... and was quite surprised... lots of ruffles and rosettes and pretty, pretty colors!  ATL is hit or miss for me - many times I don't find much - but other times (like today) I see tons of possibilities.  I tried on some tops and dresses which I'll try to review in posts over the next couple of days. Here's the first one:

The chiffon rosettes on this drew me in right away. The tee was comfy, on the longer side, not too loose and not too fitted.  This is a size small I have on.  The colors were great.  I especially like the soft aqua and soft gray.  The gray was much "gray-er" in person than in my 2nd pic above (ATL's and my first pic show the aqua).  They also had a nice bright pink and a few other colors.  I'd like to get this, but in light of all the specials and sales ATL usually runs, I'll wait for a better price.  Swiss dots up next!

Free Time (and OOD 3.19.09)

So I was up at 4:30 am this morning with nothing to do... well, I could do some laundry or clean the stove, but that could wake the children, no?  So... I give J Crew's dwindling sale section a check and what do I find?  The Victoria Ruffle Cami that I have been stalking in golden olive is finally available in my size!  MY size!  Golden Olive!  Three minutes after I order, it is off the website, so I am hoping J Crew is just working in real time and getting right to packaging up this little Victoria with my name on it - and that I won't get the dreaded email informing me that, actually, it was an early-morning coffee-deprived figment of my imagination that the Golden Olive Victoria Cami was ever in the Sale Section in a size 4.  I also ordered the Tissue Ruffle Cardi in warm blush and the Chiffon Pleated Cardigan in honey.

Dear Victoria:
Hope to see you soon!
xoxo

Anyway, today is going to be a lovely, relaxed day!  No office, no extracurricular activities to speed off to in the afternoon.  I have nearly three hours to myself in the morning to go through my calendar & paper pile (actually more considering I got an early start this morning), plan a decent dinner, run an errand or two... and... ahem...*possibly* stop by Banana Republic to check out their latest sale.  I also may go see what Nordstrom's shoe department is looking like lately.

Inspired by Dina's darling pink ensemble she posted on yesterday, I am putting a little soft pink with my jeans & cozy gray today.  Happy Thursday :)

OOD 3.18.09

Today's outfit should be called "Ready for Spring" with a subtitle of "Okay, My Ankles Are Going to Be Very Cold But I Will Deal with It".

Actually, the snow has pretty much melted and the green of the tulips is visible and we are really really close... so I'm breaking out a sunny J Crew top from last year and some quilted patent flats with my black BR capris!  I am getting the kids to school, spending a couple of hours in the office, and then coming home to masses of laundry and ironing.  Oh, and possibly shopping J Crew online in light of the extra 20% off final sale code EXTRA20 that is now posted on their homepage.  Happy Wednesday everyone!

J Crew Links Print Cross Back Tissue Tank, J Crew outlet distressed denim jacket, Banana Republic capris, with Steve Madden flats & Nordstrom bag (both a little different than pictured in my Polyvore)

OOD 3.17.09 - Going Green

My girls were so excited putting together their green ensembles last night... and I mean green.  Head to toe.  (Never mind they are half Danish.) Me - I'm not quite as green today - but with three kids under 8, I am definitely participating in the fun.  So I am pulling out a J Crew cashmere cardigan in a beautiful emerald green today.  I believe that is a Jackie in the Polyvore set but mine is the supersoft cashmere cable cardi in the same striking hue.  Perfect for our blustery weather and my busy Tuesday.  Happy St. Paddy's everyone!
